It's been a while. But I haven't been completely absent. I have kept my distance and watched and listened. But mostly just kept my distance. I have spent some time discovering myself both as an artist and a person. I have made some big changes in my education and career. And although I am very busy, I am excited about these changes.

I have redefined myself as an artist. In the recent months I have taken hundreds of pictures, and explored my options and expanded my creativity. I discovered some new films and techniques. And I have also broadened my choice of mediums. With the help of a new friend, I have started using acrylic paints. Mostly mixed with magazine cutouts, my photography, old slides, etc. I guess I'm beginning to be a bit of a collage artist if that would be the right word for it.

In any event, I would like to take this opportunity to do two things. The first being to apologize if I ever seemed ungrateful for the love and support that I had here at dA. I appreciate each and every one of you for your contributions in helping me to grow both as an artist and a person. Without dA, I'm not sure where my art would be, but I am almost positive that it wouldn't be where it is today. The second is to send out a great deal of gratitude. Even after I had left, I received a Daily Deviant. This is all thanks to a great friend here at dA by the name of ~ashknight. He recommended me for it even after I had decided to leave. He told me that he did. And I never thought anything would come of it. So, thank you ashknight. I appreciate your continued support. And the continued support of all of you here at dA.

In closing, I would like to announce my return. However, you wont find me here at this name any longer. I have created a new account [~MatthewMorse].

Hopefully this journal entry finds you all well and in a great start to a new year. I look forward to resuming my avid participation in this community.
